Board Presentation October 15, 2024

Welcome to our information page for the upcoming Safety, Security, and Health budget override initiatives that will be on the ballot this November. These initiatives are designed to ensure the safety and well-being of our students and staff by making improvements to our campuses, systems, and staffing.

The proposed budget overrides will enable us to implement safety and security updates across all of our campuses. These updates include:

  • New Locking Systems: Upgrading to state-of-the-art locking systems for enhanced security.

  • Safer Front Offices: Redesigning and fortifying front office areas to better control access.

  • Trained Armed Security: Stationing trained armed security personnel at every school.

  • Improved Surveillance Equipment: Enhancing our surveillance systems with the latest technology.

  • Improved Cyber Security Measures: Updated and enhanced hardware and software to prevent security breaches, as well as, a dedicated staffing position to monitor cyber security and potential threats.

In addition to these safety measures, the overrides will allow us to protect vital staffing positions from potential budget cuts in the future. Positions such as nurses, counselors, and behavior technicians are essential for maintaining the health and well-being of our students and staff.

Below, you will find detailed information about the costs associated with these initiatives and answers to frequently asked questions. We encourage you to review this information carefully and consider the significant positive impact these budget overrides will have on our community.

Thank you for your support in helping us create a safer, more secure, and healthier environment for everyone.
